Agent Summary

Mathematical computation agent specializing in geometric analysis and advanced calculation methods.

Source Biography

Born in Milan, he was appointed professor of mathematics at Bologna University in 1629. His method of ‘indivisibles’, published in 1635, worked with the idea of figures being made up of lines in order to determine their areas. Although the complex- ity of the method made it rather inaccessible, it helped pave the way for the introduction of integral calculus. He also promoted the use of the logarithms for calculation
